The Penang State Sports Council (MSNPP) and VitaHealth have officially renewed their collaboration for a second consecutive year through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony held at Komtar. The event was witnessed by Penang State Executive Councillor for Youth, Sports, and Health, YB Daniel Gooi Zi Sen. This continued partnership comes on the heels of Penang’s impressive performance at SUKMA 2024 in Sarawak, where the state clinched 41 gold medals a remarkable achievement for a smaller state. Gooi acknowledged that VitaHealth’s support played a pivotal role in the athletes’ performance, helping to enhance physical endurance, reduce injuries, and maintain peak condition.
“This is our second collaboration, and we believe it will continue to give our SUKMA athletes a competitive edge while contributing to the overall development of sports in the state,” said Gooi.
Under the renewed agreement, VitaHealth will contribute RM100,000 worth of health supplements and T-shirts over a 12-month period to support Penang’s preparation for SUKMA 2026 in Selangor. The supplements will include essential nutrients such as vitamin C, multivitamins, probiotics, calcium, and anti-inflammatory ingredients to aid in muscle recovery and overall wellness.
Dr. KS Beh, Chief Executive Officer of Vita Life Sciences (Malaysia & Singapore), who signed the MoU on behalf of VitaHealth, emphasized the company’s commitment to community engagement and youth development. “We strongly believe in giving back. This partnership reflects our ESG commitment to nurturing young talent and championing wellness through sport,” she said.
MSNPP Director Mr. Harry Chai, who signed the MoU alongside Dr. Beh, noted that the council had requested the renewal of the partnership to ensure Penang athletes remain competitive. Also present was Ms. Elysee Ngan, Senior Marketing Manager of VitaHealth. Gooi also highlighted that companies participating in such partnerships with MSNPP will be eligible for tax exemptions. To further strengthen sponsorship efforts, MSNPP has formed a special committee known as IMPACT, which will focus on managing the sports financing programme and attracting strategic partners.
“The IMPACT committee will be composed of experienced corporate professionals who specialize in securing sponsorships and forming strategic collaborations, not just within Penang, but across the country,” Gooi explained. As the journey to SUKMA 2026 begins, MSNPP and VitaHealth remain committed to empowering Penang’s athletes with the tools and support they need to excel.
